The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is a permanent, intergovernmental Organization, created at the Baghdad Conference on September 10–14, 1960, by Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. The Secretariat of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is located in the city of Vienna, Austria. It is the headquarters of the Organization. The Secretariat primarily carries out analytical research and public relations activities. It is not involved in oil production.
The OPEC Secretariat is always looking for talented and qualified individuals to join its multinational team, aiming at securing the highest standards of competency and efficiency to meet the standards required by its Member Countries. The Secretariat is a non-career organization with a seven-year service limited policy for certain positions reserved for Member Countries. All its employees are subject to OPEC Staff Regulations which embody the fundamental conditions of service and the basic rights, duties and obligations.
