CORPORATE TEMPS IS NOW HIRING IN THE CINCINNATI,OH AREA FOR GROUNDS & MAINTENANCE WORKERS  Job Description SCOPE:**The incumbent performs routine manual work as needed to maintain grounds and landscaping for all CMHA communities. Operates a variety of mechanical equipment used for grounds keeping operation. Assist with major landscaping projects. Reports to and works under the general supervision, of the Grounds Supervisor. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties and/or skills required. Routine use of rototillers, aerators, thatchers, over seeders, and bed edgers in the creations of mass planting and bed maintenance; Perform general landscaping tasks, including planting and pruning of trees and shrubs, setting new beds, laying sod and establishing new lawns, etc.; Sweep and clean walkways and assist in keeping outside premises orderly; Operate power mowers, weed whackers, tractors, small trucks (i.e. Mustang, Bobcat, John Deere), small front-end loaders and snow removal equipment. Ensures appropriate safety precautions are followed at all times; Independently load and transport soil, mulch, trees, and landscaping materials throughout Hamilton County; Remove graffiti from buildings, using sandblasting, steam and other removal techniques; Seasonally, will be assigned to all aspects involved in snow and ice control Independently apply soil amendments, fertilizers, weed control herbicides, using varied equipment; Attend required workshops, seminars, staff meetings, etc. to stay current on job requirements; and Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each competency satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:** Demonstrated proficiency in basic reading, writing and arithmetic. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS:** High school diploma; Two years previous experience in tree and lawn care required. EQUIPMENT USED:** Typical equipment used includes, but is not limited to, the following: walk behind and riding mowers; bat mower; chain saw; stump grinder; MadVac Vacuum truck, sandblaster, small front end loaders and pulling trailers. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Performs physical tasks such as extended walking, climbing and lifting. Must be able to lift up to100 lbs. Must work outdoors in all weather conditions. Chemical exposure includes weed killers, lime and a variety of domestic plant fertilizers. OTHER:**The incumbent must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in state of residence and an insurable driving record under the terms and conditions of the CMHA auto liability policy. Contract Job Description  –  Edit SCOPE:The incumbent performs a variety of mechanical work requiring the knowledge and use of proper work methods, tools and materials. Performs work independently without close supervision. Instructions from a Maintenance Supervisor or Senior Maintenance Worker may be required on more difficult tasks. The incumbent reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties and/or skills required. Install and repair plumbing fixtures Install and repair waste and soil line piping within the building envelope. Open sewer lines. Troubleshoot and repair forced air furnaces and hot water tanks. Trace short circuits. Remove electric wiring and installs new wiring. Install lights, switches and plugs. Perform carpentry work (e.g. laying tile and underlayment, and rebuilding floors). Repair and prepare metal, wood, masonry, plaster and drywall surfaces for painting. Mix and apply paint to interior and exterior surfaces. Install and repair metal and wood cabinets, doors and windows. Attend required workshops, seminars, staff meetings, etc. to stay current on job requirements. Perform additional duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each competency satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated proficiency in reading, writing and basic business math at a twelfth grade level. Demonstrated knowledge of the standard practices, tools, materials and safety related to general building and grounds maintenance. Demonstrated ability to work independently and to perform all basic repairs needed to make ready housing units. EQUIPMENT USED:Typical equipment used includes, but is not limited to, the following: circular, table and reciprocating saws; electric drill; sander; electric auger and gas torch. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Extensive exposure to all kinds of weather. Routinely lifts up to 100 lbs. Extensive standing, bending, walking, climbing and crawling. Routinely exposed to chemical cleaning agents.
